Chemnitz Zoo offers special guided tours
Special CSD guided tours on 28 June, 4 pm and 29 June, 10 am as well as evening guided tour on 28 June, 7.30 pm (registration until 27 June)
On Friday 28 June at 4 pm and Saturday 29 June at 10 am, Chemnitz Zoo is offering a special guided tour on the topic of "Homosexuality in the animal kingdom - of queer animals". The occasion is Christopher Street Day in Chemnitz on 29 June.
Participation is free of charge. CSD Chemnitz e. V. will pay the entrance fee to the zoo for all participants on the day of the respective tour.

The guided tour, which lasts around an hour, has some special features from the animal kingdom in store for everyone.
Homosexual behaviour is not only known in humans, but in more than 1500 animal species. For example, one in ten guinea pigs is gay. Homosexual couples are also not uncommon among penguins and flamingos. At Chemnitz Zoo, for example, bactrian camel mares have been observed having sexual contact with each other.
Evening tour of the zoo
On Friday 28 June at 7.30 pm, there will once again be an evening tour of Chemnitz Zoo. What do the animals in the zoo actually do in the evening or at night? Who goes to sleep and who only really wakes up in the evening? These and other questions will be explored here.
The evening tour lasts approx. 90 minutes. The tour is suitable for children aged 12 and over, but is of course also aimed at adults.
Participation costs 10 euros per person. As the number of participants is limited, pre-registration is required by 3 p.m. on 27 June at tierpark(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
Tickets can be purchased at the Tierpark ticket office during regular opening hours once registration has been confirmed. For organisational reasons, there will be no box office. Cancellations and participation with dogs are not possible.
