On Thursday 22 October at 1.00 pm, Mayor Knut Kunze is inviting media representatives to a press briefing at the Vivarium in Chemnitz Zoo, Nevoigtstraße 18. The occasion is the 30th anniversary of the Amphibian House, which will be celebrated on 30 and 31 October 2026.
The press briefing will look back on the Vivarium’s past 30 years and look ahead to the celebrations at the end of October. This will be followed by a feeding demonstration with the amphibians, which will provide a good opportunity for photographs and video footage.
In addition, the new curator of Chemnitz Zoo will be introduced to the public: Constantin Beck took up the newly created post on 1 October 2026 and, together with the zoo team, will be responsible for the strategic, conceptual and technical development of the zoo’s work.
