Chemnitz wants to ease corona restrictions
Curfew and 15-kilometre rule for shopping are expected to be lifted on Monday
The city of Chemnitz is planning to lift both the night-time curfew and the 15-kilometre rule for shopping next Monday. The condition for this is that the Corona Protection Ordinance of the Free State planned for today allows this and the 7-day. incidence in Saxony remains below 100. In Chemnitz itself, the incidence has already been below 100 for three weeks.
In concrete terms, this would mean that the curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. would be lifted - as would the rule that Chemnitz residents are only allowed to shop within a radius of 15 kilometres.
Lord Mayor Sven Schulze: "Thanks to the joint efforts of all Chemnitz residents, we have succeeded in reducing the number of infections in the city. I would like to thank everyone who is sticking to the rules. It is therefore possible to lift the first restrictions. Nevertheless, it is important to continue to be careful and stick to the rules, especially with regard to mutations. Only together can we continue to reduce the numbers and ensure that further restrictions are lifted soon."
