Chemnitz Valley cycle path extended by 5.7 kilometres

Official inauguration of the new section on 8 April, 10 a.m. at the level crossing on Wittgensdorfer Straße - interested parties are invited to attend

On Saturday, 8 April at 10 a.m., the new 5.7-kilometre section of the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path will be opened jointly by the State Office for Road Construction and Transport, the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path Association and the City of Chemnitz.

Cyclists travelling from Chemnitz on the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Path can now officially cycle from Untere Hauptstraße in Wittgensdorf to the Claußnitz district of Markersdorf.

The State Minister for the Environment and Agriculture, Thomas Schmidt, the Mayor of Chemnitz, Michael Stötzer, Bernd Sablotny, Transport Department at the State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, Michael Stritzke, State Office for Roadand Transport, Zschopau branch, and Günter Hermsdorf, Chairman of the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Route Association, will jointly open the new section of the Chemnitz Valley Cycle Route at the former railway crossing on Untere Hauptstraße in Wittgensdorf.

The Chemnitz Valley Cycle Route Association has organised a programme to mark the opening of the new route. Anyone interested is cordially invited to attend.
