Chemnitz the day after tomorrow - What does your Chemnitz look like?

On Monday, 28 August, the launch of the Chemnitz Strategy will take place in the "Birikino" circus tent at Tschaikowskistraße 8. From 5.30 p.m., all citizens and interested parties are invited to come along and find out what the Chemnitz Strategy is all about, why it is worth participating in its development and how to do so. Information and hands-on activities await you to get you in the mood for the Chemnitz Strategy. Snacks (drinks and barbecued food) will be provided right next door by Saatgutgarten Sonnenberg. Admission is free.
The aim of the event is to get into dialogue with the participants in an uncomplicated and relaxed atmosphere and to find out which topics and issues are particularly important for the future of Chemnitz. What will a good life in Chemnitz look like in the future? What are the key issues that will shape Chemnitz's urban development over the next 20 to 25 years? Where in the city is there a need for action? In short: What does your Chemnitz look like? Today - 2025 - 2040.

Background
The Chemnitz Strategy is like a red thread for the development of the city. The aim is to develop a city-wide strategic vision for Chemnitz, including an associated system of objectives and guidelines to guide the city's further urban development concepts and activities.
The special feature of the Chemnitz strategy is that it is not a rigid plan, but flexible and changeable. It is developed in a creative and participatory process together with Chemnitz residents. The Chemnitz Strategy sets out the cornerstones on which the city, its appearance and its functions are to be orientated.
The strategy process is a project of the City of Chemnitz. It is coordinated by the Strategy Development, Morgenstadt staff unit in the Mayor's Office. The establishment of the staff unit is a result of the Morgenstadt City Lab, which was organised by the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Chemnitz in 2016.
