Let's go to the second round! The timetable for participation
Now that the results from the kick-off event have been analysed and incorporated into the specialist process, the second round of participation is underway.
In the coming weeks, Chemnitz residents will have various opportunities to get involved in the process. They are called upon to help discuss the challenges and objectives for Chemnitz 2040, to identify places that are fit for the future and those that require action. This is possible in the following formats and events:
Online dialogue
from 17 September to 8 October 2019 at www.chemnitz.de/strategie
Here you can express your opinion on what Chemnitz should look like in 2040. In the map dialogue, everyone can show where they see a need for action. Or mark places where the future can already be experienced today.
Long table
in the Markersdorfer Oase on 27 September and
in the Sachsen-Allee on 28 September 2019
The Chemnitz Strategy is going on tour! It will be stopping off at the Markersdorfer Oase and Sachsenallee.Over coffee and cake, everyone can inform themselves informally about the current status of the Chemnitz Strategy and add their perspective and vision for Chemnitz 2040 to the discussion of important challenges and goals. There will also be exciting hands-on activities for children.
Discovery Space 2040

At this year's Schlingel film festival from 7 to 13 October 2019, young people and the young at heart can get active in a lounge atmosphere about Chemnitz 2040: Mark their favourite places on the aerial photo carpet, leave visions for a Chemnitz worth living in on the panorama wall. Say what Chemnitz would be like if they were mayors themselves. Or simply hang out in a beanbag with a juice, stick stickers and watch people. Anything is possible.The Discovery Space can be found in the foyer area of the Cinestar Roter Turm during film and festival times.

At the end of the year, the results developed so far will be presented and discussed with a large audience at the Open Atelier. The current status of the work will be presented and, in the subsequent working phase, the goals and strategies for Chemnitz 2040 will be discussed in depth and further developed at moderated small group tables.In March 2019, the residents of Chemnitz had the opportunity to discuss the topic "What does your Chemnitz look like? Today - 2025 - 2040" and to formulate initial ideas and big questions for the process of creating the Chemnitz strategy.
