Chemnitz sports club receives funding
Invitation to the handover: 5 July, 4 p.m., TSV IFA Chemnitz e. V., Eubaer Straße 71
On Wednesday, 5 July at 4 p.m., the TSV IFA Chemnitz club will receive a grant from the Free State of Saxony in the amount of 828,500 euros. Andreas Schumann, Head of the Sports Department at the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior, will present the decision to the club in the presence of Lord Mayor Sven Schulze on the club grounds at Eubaer Straße 71. The City of Chemnitz will contribute a further 600,000 euros in sports funding.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
The funding will be used to build an artificial turf pitch. In this way, the Free State of Saxony and the City of Chemnitz are supporting and honouring the successful youth work of TSV IFA Chemnitz.
TSV IFA Chemnitz e. V. is acting as the client for this project, which will cost a total of 1.66 million euros. The multi-divisional club has 419 members. The football section is the club's largest with 306 members, including 180 children and young people.
Once completed, the new large artificial turf football pitch will be usable all year round. It replaces the previous hard pitch and the associated floodlights at the sports centre on Eubaer Straße.
