Chemnitz presents itself at Germany's leading forum for cultural providers and sponsors

The KulturInvest Congress begins in Berlin on Monday, 12 November - Chemnitz2025 is a theme partner

The 10th KulturInvest Congress on 12/13 November 2018 in Berlin will be held under the motto "100 impulses in the field of tension between aesthetics and efficiency" - and Chemnitz2025 is a theme partner.

With its bid to become European Capital of Culture 2025, Chemnitz is pursuing the goal of making the region's economic strength more tangible than ever in its cultural development. Culture will become a driver for urban development, an occasion for networking the region and for exchange with Europe - and it will become the key to open dialogue and diverse encounters between people.


This is why the "Capital of Culture" forum of Chemnitz2025, which will be opened by Mayor Barbara Ludwig, offers not only lectures but also space for discussion. In terms of content, the focus is on the involvement of urban society in the development process. The forum will present practical examples of participatory processes in the development of a municipal cultural strategy or in the creation of a cultural region, it will also look at the influence of festivals on the urban space and the role of the local population in this, Leeuwarden Friesland 2028 will report on the extremely successful involvement of the local population in the development of the city.The raumlabor_Berlin will be looking at alternative strategies for urban regeneration and Krach - Kreativraum Chemnitz, the funding programme for the cultural and creative industries, will also be presenting itself.


Chemnitz2025 is also delighted to be hosting Dr Ulrich Fuchs, the current chairman of the EU jury for the selection of European Capitals of Culture, who will be speaking with great experience about the European dimension of Capital of Culture processes.


For 10 years, the KulturInvest! congress has stood for innovative forward thinking, lively debates and successful solutions for tangible and intangible investments in culture. Once again this year, over 100 renowned speakers from business, culture and the media will present the latest trends and developments in the cultural market in 10 themed forums, reaching over 450 decision-makers from business, culture, politics and the media.
