Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March
Information from the traffic authority and the police department
Various events and demonstrations will take place in Chemnitz on 5 March 2017 to mark the Chemnitz Peace Day, which will result in traffic restrictions in the city area. In order to keep traffic flow as smooth as possible, operational road closures will be in place during the individual demonstrations and rallies.
The following roads will be affected:
Between 12 noon and approx. 5.30 pm:
Full closure of Brückenstraße, between Mühlenstraße and Straße der Nationen

between 1 pm and 9 pm:
operational and short-term closures in the city centre, Bahnhofstraße, Georgstraße, Carolastraße, Straße der Nationen, Brückenstraße, Mühlenstraße, Reichsstraße, Falkeplatz, Zwickauer Straße, Waisenstraße, Dresdner Straße, Hainstraße, Zietenstraße, Augustusburger Straße

With the Peace Day this coming Sunday, Chemnitz is once again setting an example for democracy, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and cosmopolitanism, against hatred and neo-fascism. The Chemnitz Peace Day working group and the citizens' initiative Aktion © as well as many other committed people have prepared a programme for this event.
