On Tuesday, 24 February at 2 pm, representatives of the media are invited to a press conference on this year's Peace Day in Room 118, City Hall, Markt 1.
Sabine Kühnrich, Heike Stege and Stephan Brenner from the Peace Day working group, Pastor Christoph Magirius, honorary citizen of the City of Chemnitz, and Cornelia Siegel, project manager for the City of Chemnitz, will present the programme for the Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March. Anne Gottschalk, press spokeswoman for the City of Chemnitz, will moderate the programme.
On 5 March, the Chemnitz Peace Day commemorates the bombing and destruction of the city 81 years ago and all the victims of the Second World War. Every year on this day, numerous people from Chemnitz take a stand for peace, democracy and against right-wing extremism and xenophobia.
