Chemnitz Municipal Music School opens gradually from 18 May
From Monday, 18 May, the Chemnitz Municipal Music School will gradually reopen its rooms - in compliance with infection protection regulations.
The first step will be to start with individual and combination lessons only (but here only individually). Due to the increased risk of infection, the departments of wind instruments and singing (classical and pop singing) as well as the department of early musical education and dance are excluded. Online lessons will continue to be offered in these areas until face-to-face lessons can be resumed.
The classrooms will be designed in such a way that the regulated safety distance of 1.5 to 2 metres between pupils and teachers can be maintained.
Public access will be limited to pupils attending lessons. Parents or accompanying persons may not enter the school building. Pupils must confirm that they and their family are free from infection using a form (pendulum form) before attending lessons.
You can find the form under the following link: SSG Sachsen - Pendelboge
Consultation hours are temporarily only offered via telephone/fax or e-mail. It will be possible to borrow instruments by appointment and in compliance with the safety distance of 1.5 to 2 metres.
Smaller groups and ensembles will be taught again at a later stage.
Lessons in wind instruments and singing as well as courses in early musical education and dance can only be taken up once the risk of infection has been significantly reduced.
Music lessons in general education schools and daycare centres will be possible at a later date in coordination with the respective institution.
The entry plan serves to ensure an orderly, gradual integration into normal music school life. The plan gives school management, administration and teachers sufficient time and space to act if the risk of infection in and around the music school increases again. Slowly increasing the number of classes will protect both teachers and students.
