Chemnitz movers and shakers on campus
City marketing exhibition on show until 11 May in the Weinhold Building at Chemnitz University of Technology
"It's all there, you just have to discover it," enthuses computer science student Sebastian Arndt. His friend Christian Bäumler, a Master's student of Regenerative Energy Technology, adds: "Since I've been living in Chemnitz, I've been incredibly happy with my studies at the TU and with the city. I just wanted to share this with others and maybe convince one or two people to study here." The two Chemnitz University of Technology students talk about their involvement in the Uniblog Campus TUschler. They represent the writing-loving university ambassadors in the "Chemnitzer Macher" exhibition, which has been on display at Chemnitz University of Technology in the Weinhold Building since today.
The exhibition shows 70 stories and faces from the city marketing campaign "The city is me". Various personalities from Chemnitz talk about their love for the city and their professional or voluntary passions. They have all been interviewed in the "Doers of the week" interview series, which has been published since March 2014.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig: "Chemnitz University of Technology has intensively supported the city's marketing activities in recent years, which is why we both wanted to show the exhibition at the university. As a centre of science, Chemnitz has great maker qualities, as demonstrated by the interviews conducted with company founders, students and professors. With the exhibition on campus, we are inviting everyone to get to know these makers and discover the city for themselves."
The maker magazine, in which the interviews are printed in more detail, is also available to take away at Chemnitz University of Technology. The interviews are archived in full at www.die-stadt-bin-ich.de.
The exhibition can be visited until 11 May 2016 during the opening hours of the Weinhold Building at Chemnitz University of Technology, Reichenhainer Straße 70 (Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The maker exhibition was first shown in December 2015 in Chemnitz City Hall and can be seen at other locations in Chemnitz throughout the year.
