Chemnitz Marathon 2014 - Information from the traffic authorities

Note full closure on Saturday, 5 July from 9:45 am: Bahnhofstraße between Falkeplatz and Zschopauer Straße and Annaberger Straße landwards between Bahnhofstraße and Reichsstraße

Chemnitz Marathon GmbH is organising the 7th Chemnitz Marathon(www.marathon-chemnitz.de ) on Saturday, 5 July from 10 am to 4 pm. The route runs from Am Wall via Richard-Möbius-Straße - Düsseldorfer Platz - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Innere Klosterstraße - Markt - Bretgasse - Bahnhofstraße Innere Klosterstraße - Markt - Bretgasse - Bahnhofstraße, Annaberger Straße, Beckerstraße to the city park and back to the city centre.

Full closure on Saturday, 5 July from 9:45 a.m.: Bahnhofstraße between Falkeplatz and Zschopauer Straße and Annaberger Straße in the landward direction between Bahnhofstraße and Reichsstraße will be fully closed to road users from 9:45 a.m. on the day of the Chemnitz Marathon.

Heinrich-Lorenz-Straße and Scheffelstraße will also be fully closed from 10 a.m. due to the crossing by the runners.

One-way street regulation on Saturday, 5 July from 8:45 am: Beckerstrasse between Reichsstrasse and Treffurthstrasse will be set up as a one-way street (in the direction of Reichsstrasse) from 8:45 am on the day of the Chemnitz Marathon.

As usual, the traditional running event will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Headquarters. Bus and rail transport(www.cvag.de) will be operationally guaranteed.

Visitors to the city centre and local residents should follow the traffic signs indicating possible traffic jams and the recommended detours. We ask for your understanding that disruptions cannot be ruled out.
