Mordzeitlose - a botanical thriller by Patricia Holland Moritz - reading on 24 April
Berlin crime writer Patricia Holland Moritz will be reading from her latest crime novel "Mordzeitlose" next Tuesday, 24 April at 7.30 pm in the TIETZ City Library. Admission costs 8 euros, concessions 6 euros.
Margrit Kunkel grows up in a nursery in Brandenburg and her studies take her around the world's botanical gardens. She was soon recognised as an expert and took over the management of the Dutch Garden Academy in Berlin. Her model of "slow gardening" also seems to bring harmony to her staff. However, this is abruptly disrupted when Margrit comes across a human hand in the cactus house. If it weren't for the unexplained circumstances of her mother's death, the strange disappearance of Margrit's first boyfriend and an investigator who makes disturbing connections, she would have reported the discovery to the police. But she prefers to take matters into her own hands.
Patricia Holland Moritz was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, worked as a bookseller in Leipzig, left the GDR to work as a haulage clerk in Paris, studied North American Studies in Berlin, became a booker for bands and now works in a publishing house. She is a blogger and ghostwriter. For her novels, she has received working scholarships from the Berlin Senate and Mörderische Schwestern e.V. On her tours, she has already read with renowned authors such as Håkan Nesser, Arne Dahl and Ulrich Wickert. Her crime thriller "Kältetod" (Cold Death) from Berlin's crystal meth milieu was honoured by "Tip" in 2015 for the "most unusual murder method". "Mordzeitlose" is her third novel published by Gmeiner.
