Chemnitz joins Tübingen and Bundorf in the final of the vote for Energy Municipality of the Year 2024, which is being organised by the Agency for Renewable Energies (AEE).
In the second round of voting, all citizens can now vote for Chemnitz, Bundorf or Tübingen until 17 February at: https: //www.empirio.de/s/aDLtH2DlHM.
"Chemnitz is broadly positioned in the use of renewable energies in all sectors. With its establishment as part of the international innovation and technology centre for hydrogen, the expansion of solar energy as well as projects for neighbourhood development and the expansion of mobility services, the European Capital of Culture 2025 and its citizens are consistently dedicated to continuous decarbonisation," says the AEE website about the vote.
The digital award ceremony for the Energy Municipality of the Year 2024 will take place on 17 February with representatives of the three finalists. The Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Michael Kellner, will open the event with a laudatory speech and announce the result of the vote.
