Chemnitz Guitar Days herald the start of a new teaching year
Municipal music school: Registration for guitar courses still possible
The Chemnitz Guitar Days will take place for the first time from Sunday, 13 August to Saturday, 19 August. They mark the start of the new 2023/24 teaching year at the Municipal Music School. Three courses specialising in guitar will be offered: the guitar masterclass, the guitar duo masterclass and the guitar orchestra workshop. Two concerts will also take place. The Chemnitz Municipal Music School and the "Friends and Supporters of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School" association are co-organising the event for the first time.
Registrations for the courses can be made at the Municipal Music School by telephone on 0371 302289 or by e-mail to musikschule(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. Due to the current lockdown, registrations can also be made on 0151/53071298.
On Sunday 13 August at 3 pm, interested parties are invited to the opening concert of the Chemnitz Guitar Days in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstraße 1. Music from the Spanish Romantic period by Isaac Albeniz, Enrique Granados and Manuel de Falla will be performed by Anastasia Maximkina-Villa and Philippe Villa from France. Both are the teachers of the masterclasses for solo guitar and guitar duo taking place from 14 to 18 August.
Music enthusiasts are also invited to the final concert on Saturday, 19 August at 3 pm in the concert hall, Gerichtsstraße 1. The participants and teachers of the masterclasses and the guitar orchestra will perform together.
Admission to both concerts is free. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance.
