Chemnitz for humanity
Press invitation to the networking meeting on 17 January 2018, 5.30 p.m. Weltecho
On Wednesday, 17 January at 5.30 pm, committed Chemnitz residents will meet at Weltecho under the motto "Chemnitz for Humanity" to discuss the current right-wing extremist activities. They will discuss the situation in Chemnitz and talk about non-violent and creative countermeasures.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend this meeting.
The city of Chemnitz has been proactively countering right-wing extremist movements since 2008 with a municipal action strategy, the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz. A broad network of civil society actors has been established that critically examines the situation in Chemnitz. Chemnitz's civil society, which is involved in a variety of socio-political activities, is supported by the city of Chemnitz and the federal programme "Demokratie Leben" (Living Democracy) with funding.
The organiser of the networking meeting "Chemnitz for Humanity" is the Netzwerk für Kultur- und Jugendarbeit e. V. (Network for Cultural and Youth Work) as the external coordination office of the Chemnitz Partnership for Democracy.
