Chemnitz environmental prize for children and young people
Voting for new logo still possible until 28 February
Until the end of February, all Chemnitz residents have the opportunity to vote on the future logo of the Chemnitz Environmental Award for Children and Young People and thus the new logo of the environmental education campaign of the City of Chemnitz Environmental Agency.
So far, around 850 people have taken part in the vote. A trend is already emerging: one of the three variants has received around 60 per cent of the votes cast so far.
Interested parties can vote conveniently via the citizen participation portal of the Free State of Saxony: https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/1032690
If it is not possible to vote online, this can also be done by e-mail to: umweltamt(at)stadt-chemnitz.de or by post to Umweltamt, Friedensplatz 1, 09111 Chemnitz.
Children and young people from Altchemnitz school lead the way
On Thursday, 9 February, children and young people from Altchemnitz School, a school with a focus on learning, took part in the vote. The younger pupils voted using sticky notes by placing dots on three voting posters. The older, teenage pupils from the environmentally conscious school voted online via tablet. No tendency emerged among them; the vast majority found all three logo variants appealing. In their opinion, it can be seen that the colour scheme of the logos creates an environmental reference: Green stands for nature conservation and the reference to green plants. The blue colour is associated with bodies of water, the yellow with the sun.
