Chemnitz Environmental Award enters the next round

Projects can be submitted until 17 April - Vote on new logo

There is still time until 17 April to submit projects for this year's Environmental Award for Children and Young People. Children and young people up to the age of 20 who come from Chemnitz or attend an educational or youth centre in Chemnitz are eligible to enter.

The environmental prize is aimed at environmental education and has been organised annually by the City of Chemnitz Environmental Agency since 1991. Young Chemnitz residents can use it to demonstrate their knowledge and commitment to the environment. Last year, 667 children and young people took part in the environmental education campaign with a total of 22 projects. These are presented in an online exhibition at www.chemnitz.de/umweltpreisausstellung.

All participants receive non-cash prizes. The winners will be chosen in four categories: daycare centres, primary schools, grades 5 to 8, grades 9 to 12 and young people up to the age of 20. The top three winners in each age category will receive cash prizes. The forms for submitting projects can be found at www.chemnitz.de/umweltpreis.
