Chemnitz Early Help Network supports the start in life
More than 20 partners want to participate in the development and organisation of this important project of the Office for Youth and Family Affairs
According to information from the Office for Youth and Family, which is in charge of the network, more than 20 of the guests at a symposium declared their willingness to play an active and committed role as partners in organising and supporting the work of the Chemnitz Early Help Network. The symposium was organised under the motto "A successful start in life" at the TIETZ (PM 130 from 12.03.2014). In total, over 100 guests accepted the invitation from network coordinator Grit Rosenberg, including guests from the healthcare sector, advice centres and early intervention centres, the job centre, youth welfare organisations, Chemnitz University of Technology and Chemnitz Police Headquarters.
The network idea is based on the Federal Child Protection Act of 2012 and the federal initiative "Netzwerk Frühe Hilfen und Familienhebammen" (Early Help Network and Family Midwives), which builds on this. The aim of the Chemnitz Early Help Network is to provide pregnant women and young parents with the best possible support and help as early as possible if required and/or necessary. The network partners want to provide targeted services to ensure that parents can experience the special time together with their child as lovingly, safely and as healthily as possible. After all, single parents and young families, for example, do not always have trusted people on hand to offer help and advice.
The aim of the kick-off event was to get experts from the institutions involved in preventative child protection to work together and at the same time to emphasise the importance of early preventative measures for parents in problem situations. A lively exchange showed the great interest in information and in intensive cooperation within the Chemnitz network. Numerous expectations and ideas were also taken up as tasks by the network coordinator at the symposium, such as the specific bundling and publicising of all available services for children and parents as well as the recruitment of additional family midwives (there are currently two working in Chemnitz).
