Chemnitz daycare centres receive children's book "Ein König fährt Bus"

Invitation to the photo session: Friday, 10 March, 10.30 a.m.

Every day-care centre in Chemnitz receives a copy of the children's book "Ein König fährt Bus" (A King Rides a Bus). In it, the Chemnitz author Effi Winkler tells 15 loving short stories about how age-related and disability-related impairments can be dealt with in a relaxed and positive way. The book helps to overcome fears of contact and insecurities in dealing with one another.

The Regional Working Group for Disabled People in Chemnitz and the surrounding area (RAGH) developed this idea together with the City of Chemnitz's Disability Officer, Petra Liebetrau. The Chemnitz Erich Schellhorn Foundation made the financial support possible.

On Friday, 10 March at 10.30 a.m., the books will be ceremoniously handed over by the foundation's board of directors in the presence of Hanka Kliese, Member of the State Parliament, and Mayor Philipp Rochold at the "Am Hutholz" day care centre, Walter-Ranft-Straße 72, 09123 Chemnitz. The director of this municipal facility and the director of an independent daycare centre accepted the award on behalf of all daycare centres and after-school care centres run by local authorities and independent providers.

The Chemnitz author Effi Winkler will then read passages from her book. The handover ceremony will be accompanied by music performed by the children from the daycare centre.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
