Chemnitz clubs receive funding

On Friday, 7 October at 3.30 pm, three Chemnitz sports clubs will receive funding decisions from the Free State of Saxony. Andreas Schumann, Head of the Sports Department at the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior, will present the notifications totalling 590,000 euros in the presence of Mayor Sven Schulze on the premises of VTB Chemnitz, Harthweg 33.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event.
Three measures in the field of sport will be funded. The individual measures are
- Renovation and extension of the Harthweg 33 sports ground building of the VTB Chemnitz association for a total of 846,000 euros. Around 423,000 euros of this is being subsidised by the state of Saxony. The city of Chemnitz is contributing 369,000 euros, while the club is contributing 54,000 euros. The building, which was constructed in 1950, is to be renovated and extended from the first quarter of 2023. Construction is scheduled to end in December 2023.
- Renovation of VfB Chemnitz's artificial turf pitch on Beyerstrasse for more than 269,000 euros. The funding from the state of Saxony amounts to around 135,000 euros, while the city of Chemnitz is contributing more than 98,000 euros. The club's own contribution is around 36,000 euros. The artificial turf is to be renovated from May to August 2023.
- New construction of the floodlight system at the SSV Textima Erfenschlag e. V., Sportlerweg 5, which will cost around 65,000 euros in total. The state of Saxony is contributing the largest share with around 32,500 euros, while the city of Chemnitz is contributing around 26,000 euros and the club 6,500 euros.
