Chemnitz City Library becomes a learning companion for pupils with Brockhaus
New at Chemnitz City Library: With the online learning programme Schülertraining, pupils in years 5 to 10 can learn the school material themselves in exciting learning modules in a secure, ad-free learning environment. With a valid library card, free of charge for pupils up to the age of 18, they can access the programme at www.stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de at any time - even from home.
According to a study by the Bertelsmann Foundation, parents in Germany invest 879 million euros in private tutoring for their children. For an average of 87 euros per month, 1.2 million pupils receive extracurricular support programmes.
Brockhaus student training for the subjects German, English, French, Latin and maths helps students to understand lesson content, close gaps in their knowledge and prepares them for upcoming tests and class tests.
Students select the subject and topic of their choice in the e-learning programme and, after a short introduction, they are provided with varied, interactive exercises. They learn at their own pace, and the direct feedback and displays of the solution path also help them to learn the subject matter. Further advantages: Students move in a safe learning environment with tested content that is based on the core curriculum content. They also learn in a targeted and self-determined way by selecting the modules of their choice.
Developed by subject experts and didactics specialists, Brockhaus Student Training promotes reading skills, text comprehension and independent work in addition to computer and internet skills.
