Chemnitz city greenery: a tour
Adult education centre: on 21 September, 5 pm - guided tour of urban green spaces
On Wednesday, 21 September, from 5 to 6.30 p.m., the adult education centre invites interested parties to a tour of the city centre, which will showcase the green diversity in Chemnitz. City guide Veronika Leonhardt will provide information about the historical background of Chemnitz's greenery and the special features of the parks.

The meeting point for the tour is at the Chemnitz Red Tower.
The tour will focus on selected parks and green spaces. They have a high ecological value, especially in a large city, and are oases of relaxation in an otherwise noisy and hectic environment. The meadows and trees provide new energy, reduce air pollution and improve the urban climate.
However, green spaces not only improve the quality of life of city dwellers, they also preserve traces of regional history. The diversity in the layout and design of city parks allows architectural styles and trends in urban planning to be recognised. Chemnitz recognised the health-promoting importance of public gardens and parks very early on. Today, the city is one of the greenest metropolises in Germany.
