Chemnitz city culture at the Rosenhof
The adult education centre invites you to the Rosenhof evening "Chemnitz City Culture" on 19 September, from 5 pm - as part of Chemnitz' bid to become the Capital of Culture 2025
Next Tuesday, 19 September 2017, from 5 pm, all interested Chemnitz residents are cordially invited to an exciting evening of Chemnitz city culture open air at the Rosenhof. The event is part of Chemnitz's bid to become Capital of Culture 2025.
What actually is a city? What characterises it and how can history, culture and society be read in it? What kind of city is Chemnitz? How and why has it developed in this way? What characterises Chemnitz's urban culture? And how do we perceive culture in the city? We would like to explore these and other questions together in a relaxed atmosphere, with musical contributions from pianist Michael Fröhlich and a small culinary offering. The adult education centre invites you to come along, enjoy a piece of Chemnitz city culture during a relaxed evening in the open air, form your own opinion and get involved in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture 2025 bid.
Dr Urs Luczak, Head of the Arts and Culture Department at the Adult Education Centre and a qualified urban planner and sociologist, will lead the evening with illustrated contributions on the city and Chemnitz, encouraging a shared exchange on Chemnitz's urban culture. Katja Manz, cultural and urban geographer, and Robert Verch, graduate designer and district manager for business and creative industries, will contribute further suggestions from their expertise.
The entire event is free of charge and open to all interested parties without registration. In case of bad weather, it will take place in the TIETZ event hall at Moritzstraße 20.
Chemnitz is applying for the title of Capital of Culture 2025. Chemnitz Adult Education Centre is participating in the application process with its own events and invites interested parties to take part, form their own opinion, find out about the topics of Europe, the Capital of Culture, the city and culture in various event formats and get into conversation together. In workshops, forums and other local events, everyone is also welcome to get involved, join in the discussions and develop ideas.
