Invitation to the photo session on 18 November, 10 a.m., car park at TIETZ

Mayor Sven Schulze takes delivery of the brand-new electric BMW i3 as the first e-mobile for the city of Chemnitz on 18 November 2016 at 10 a.m.. The car key will be handed over to him personally by the head of the BMW branch in Chemnitz, Thomas Muderlak.

The vehicle will be handed over at the charging station in the car park of the DASTietz cultural department stores'.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited.

The vehicle will be part of the city administration's central vehicle fleet and can be used across all departments. This will give a large number of employees the opportunity to test the alternative drive technology on their business trips. At the same time, the city can gain its own experience with regard to the economic utilisation of electric vehicles.

The city administration is thus actively participating in the "Electromobility for Chemnitz" work programme with the aim of helping electromobility achieve a breakthrough. The aim is to banish smog and traffic noise from the city in the long term.

The electricity for the vehicle is supplied by eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co KG - 38% of which comes from renewable energy sources.
