Chemnitz City Council in figures 2012: around 200 proposals and motions dealt with in 45 hours
Yesterday's budget discussion was the last meeting of the city council for this year. Including this meeting, there were a total of 13 public and four non-public meetings of the Chemnitz City Council last year in the council chamber of the New Town Hall.
The meeting time - public and non-public deliberations combined - totalled more than 45 hours. The shortest meeting was in January with less than two and a half hours, while the longest debate was in July with almost eight and a half hours. All in all, the plenary session dealt with 142 public and five non-public draft resolutions on behalf of Chemnitz and the citizens of Chemnitz. In the end, the committee adopted 130 public and four non-public administrative proposals.
A total of 25 proposed resolutions (all public) were on the agenda in 2012. A total of 18 of these motions were adopted and thus issued to the administration. As far as information proposals are concerned, a total of 28 were on the agenda this year, two of which were dealt with in private.
The total of 434 questions submitted to the City Council is still a significant number and therefore a significant amount of work for the administration as the addressee of the questions.
There was no urgent decision by the Lord Mayor this year, nor was there a residents' question time.
