Chemnitz Christmas market takes place
The only obstacle would be the coronavirus pandemic
The Chemnitz Christmas market will definitely take place this year.
"If the coronavirus situation allows, many stalls will once again provide Christmas flair around the town hall," says Mayor Miko Runkel. He thus denies statements that the Christmas market is on the brink of cancellation.
140 of the 170 stands have already been booked. The typical traditional character of the Chemnitz Christmas market is characterised by the fact that the proportion of stalls offering Christmas products and arts and crafts is higher than the proportion of food and drink on offer.
There were considerably more applicants than necessary for the stalls offering food and drink.
We are still looking for applicants for 30 stands for the Christmas and arts and crafts offerings.
