Chemnitz as a Fairtrade Town - What does that mean?
The Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to an information evening about Chemnitz's application to become a Fairtrade Town on Thursday, 13 June, 6.45 to 8.15 pm, in the TIETZ, course room 4.07. Admission is free. Admission is free.
Like over 540 other cities across Germany, Chemnitz also wants to get involved and therefore launched a campaign in 2016. What does the campaign mean for Chemnitz? What does it mean for our city if it becomes a Fairtrade Town? What does it take and how much progress has the campaign made? Interested parties will receive answers to these and many other questions on the topic of Fairtrade Town on this evening.
Fair trade is no longer just about coffee. There is now a wide range of fairly traded products, not only in specialised shops but also in supermarkets. In order to strengthen fair trade structures for products from poorer regions of the world, a broad base and support is also needed at city level. So-called Fairtrade Towns aim to promote fair trade locally.
