Charity concert for climate protection
The Environmental Centre invites you to a benefit concert on Saturday, 29 April 2017 at 7.30 pm in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstraße 1.
The musicians will be Jeffrey Goldberg, piano, Tiina Penttinen, mezzo-soprano, Ovidiu Simbotin, violin and Jakub Tylman, cello, all from Chemnitz Opera. They will perform works by Beethoven and Sibelius as well as improvisations.
The artist Veronica Seidel will accompany the performance live with drawings and paintings. This will be projected onto a screen via a projector.
Admission is free. Donations are requested. The proceeds will be used for climate protection projects of the environmental organisation 350.org and for climate protection work in Chemnitz.
An event organised by the Chemnitz Environmental Centre, Agenda 21, the city association Bündnis 90/Die Grünen in Chemnitz, musicians from Chemnitz Opera and artist Veronica Seidel.
Background
350.org is an international climate protection organisation founded by US author and environmental activist Bill McKibben. The aim of 350.org is to build a global grassroots movement for climate protection in order to enforce the demands of the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in Paris. Actions by and for 350.org will take place worldwide on 29 April.
