Changes to the official gazette of the city of Chemnitz
Advertising-free, easier to read and with a new distribution system for the new year
The changes to the City of Chemnitz's official gazette from next year were presented today.
From January, the official gazette will be free of advertising and will only contain news from the city administration, municipal institutions and businesses as well as official announcements.
From next year, the printed official gazette will be available at around 200 publicly accessible locations in the city, where it will be distributed free of charge every Friday. It will no longer be delivered directly to households in the city.
The distribution points include bakeries, grocery stores and retailers, as well as municipal facilities, care homes, meeting places and other publicly accessible locations. There will also be distribution points in the localities. Outpatient care services will also receive the official gazette for their patients.
The visual design will change slightly, with a larger font and a different page layout for improved readability.
In future, the print edition will be printed in a run of 25,000 copies per issue.
As before, the official gazette will be made available digitally at www.chemnitz.de/amtsblatt for download - also barrier-free - and can be sent by e-mail newsletter on request.
The citizens of Chemnitz will be informed about the changeover in good time via all media channels, via City Light posters, via the website and the social media channels of the City of Chemnitz as well as in the official gazette.
A map and a list of all distribution points will be published at www.chemnitz.de. This overview will also be reproduced in the last two issues of this year's official gazette.
The contract with the previous service provider for the printing and distribution of the Official Gazette expires at the end of 2022. The services were put out to tender again. A new provider will take over this service from 1 January 2023.
