Carlowitz dialogue on honest climate and environmental protection
Adult education centre: Talk on 31 October, 4 p.m., St-Georg-Kirche Chemnitz/Rabenstein
On Thursday, 31 October, the Sächsische Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz-Gesellschaft e. V. and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invite you to a Carl-von-Carlowitz dialogue between the actor and author Hannes Jaenicke and the MDR journalist Michaela Koschak in the Rabenstein St-Georg-Kirche from 4 pm.
Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible by telephone on 0371 488-4343 or online at https://www.vhs-chemnitz.de/kurs/W2433205.
Among other things, the discussion will focus on the theses of the book "Die große Sauerei: Wie Agrarlobby und Lebensmittelindustrie uns belügen und betrügen - und was das für unsere Ernährung bedeutet", which was published in 2022. Hannes Jaenicke wants to explain the connection between the pursuit of power, greed for profit, environmental destruction and species extinction. How closely intertwined are politics, industry and economic lobbies - and what can we do to ensure a future worth living for everyone? Hannes Jaenicke appeals to the power of consumers and shows what not only each and every individual can contribute on a small scale, but also companies, organisations and associations. He emphasises that it is always worth taking action.
Hannes Jaenicke has been involved in environmental protection and nature conservation for many years. The actor, documentary filmmaker, convinced vegan and activist is a controversial critic and admonisher.
The evening will be hosted by presenter, media meteorologist, climate communicator and author Michaela Koschak. She is involved in schools and events to impart knowledge and sensitise people to live more sustainably.
The event is a co-operation between the Saxon Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz-Gesellschaft e. V. and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
