Capital of Culture office opens tonight

The Capital of Culture Office at Rosenhof 6 in Chemnitz will be officially opened this evening. It will be a meeting point for anyone who wants to get involved in the process. Here, Chemnitz residents can also gain insight into the Capital of Culture 2025 application process at any time.

Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig: "We hope that the office will become a permanent address for the people of Chemnitz. The door is open to everyone." The office should be a meeting place for interested parties, regardless of whether they have ideas, projects, questions or are simply curious.

Ferenc Csak, Head of Cultural Operations and Director of the office: "With the opening of the office, the application will finally be visible to everyone. We want to talk to the people of Chemnitz about it." There are also plans to organise various events in the area around the office from August. The "Rosenhof evenings" will feature music, performances and talks.

GGG is providing the rooms and thus supporting the application. The unusual furnishing of the office is an idea of the Chemnitz Municipal Theatre, which has contributed scenery from the "Faust" production, among other things.

The doors to the Capital of Culture office are open on Mondays from 10 am to 3 pm, Thursdays from 2 pm to 6 pm and Fridays from 1 pm to 4 pm, as well as by appointment.
