Capital of Culture office at the Christmas market

On 17 and 19 December, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Capital of Culture Office will be present at the Christmas market with its own stand opposite the Am Markt 19 shop.

In a Christmassy atmosphere with mulled wine and sweets, representatives of the Capital of Culture Office want to talk to visitors to the Chemnitz Christmas market about the Capital of Culture idea and answer questions such as: What has been achieved this year, what are the next steps, what do the people of Chemnitz want? You can also find out what opportunities the application has as an urban development project.

The project manager of the Capital of Culture application, Ferenc Csák, and the staff of the Capital of Culture Office want to raise funds for the activities of the Capital of Culture Association at the Christmas market by serving mulled wine and sweets.

Together with the municipalities in the region

Project manager Ferenc Csák also sees the City of Chemnitz's application as an opportunity for the joint marketing of the municipalities in the region. He therefore met with the mayors of Thalheim, Amtsberg, Augustusburg and Hainichen, among others, at the beginning of December to discuss the synergies that the Chemnitz bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 will bring for these cities. They also discussed how the region can support the bid.
