Call for applications for residency in Wroclaw
Artists, architects and art historians interested in Eastern European Modernism can apply for an interdisciplinary residency in Wroclaw, Poland, until 20 August. The applicant(s) will then live and work in Wroclaw from 15 September to 15 October 2020. The costs for the stay will be covered. The project is a collaboration between the Chemnitz2025 team and the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz with the Culture Zone Wroclaw and the Tbilisi Architecture Biennale in Georgia.
Applications are open to people interested in art and culture who were born, work or study in Chemnitz, Wroclaw or Tbilisi.
The theme of the residency is modernism and the questions of how these cities reflected pan-European ideas, how their positions on modernism have changed over time and how time and space (East/West) have influenced modernism and its perception.
To apply, the following documents must be submitted in English:
- Cover letter stating your motivation to participate in the project
- Description of the project to be realised during the residency in Wroclaw and how it relates to modernism (maximum 2,000 characters)
- CV and either portfolio or link to own website
