Café Philo: Hate
Event organised by the adult education centre on 2 April, 7 p.m., at the "Komplex" theatre, Zietenstraße 32
On Tuesday, 2 April, from 7 to 9.15 p.m., the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to the free discussion event "Café Philo" at the "Komplex" theatre, Zietenstraße 32.
The overarching theme of the first event of the current semester is "Hate".
Admission is free.
The fact is: hate posts on the internet are becoming increasingly unrestrained, verbal hatred at demonstrations is getting louder, "dissing" someone appears to be the new ideal of self-assertion. TV series show ruthless and violent clan bosses as the main characters. Aggression in everyday life, in road traffic and at schools erupts at the slightest opportunity. And there is sometimes a political climate that uses hatred as a means of power. It seems as if ideals of community and solidarity as a value and means of social cohesion are in decline.
Café Philo is a free discussion event that is dedicated to one overarching topic each semester. In four moderated individual discussions, the respective topic is fanned out and experts are consulted if necessary. The aim is not to obtain knowledge that can be tested, but rather the discussion itself as a combination of experience, science and theory.
