Building project in Reichenbrand - investor seeks alternative use
In the discussion about a building project in Reichenbrand, a meeting was held today between the owner and the Mayor of Construction, Michael Stötzer. In this meeting, the mayor once again informed the owner that the city has no need for an asylum centre there.
The owner informed the mayor that he would look for an alternative use for the building complex so that the property would not fall into disrepair.
The administration had granted the owner permission to convert the office building into a residential building in a regular planning permission procedure. The options under discussion included age-appropriate/assisted living, detached houses along the street, communal accommodation for asylum seekers or even a hall of residence for students or trainees.
There have been several rounds of talks - most recently yesterday - with the building mayor for the residents affected, in which he explained the current legal situation to them.
