Build a fire like in the Middle Ages with a tinderbox and fire stick
Young nature wardens: mushroom hike on 24 July and 21 August, both from 9 to 11.30 a.m.
On Saturday, 24 July, from 9 to 11.30 a.m., the Chemnitz Young Nature Guards, together with the Chemnitz Environmental Agency and the Saxon State Foundation for Nature and the Environment, invite you to a tinder fungus hike in the Küchwald forest. The meeting point is at the "Holzeisenbahn" playground (in Küchwald).
Together with mushroom coach Wolfgang Friese, you will go in search of tinder fungi. He will show you where to find tinder fungi, explain how to recognise them and how to make a fire with them, just like people did in the Middle Ages.
The event is aimed at children who are interested in nature and nature conservation. Participation is free of charge. Please register at claudia.feger(at)stadt-chemnitz.de by Thursday, 22 July.
The next tinder fungus hike for children with Wolfgang Friese will take place on Saturday, 21 August, also from 9 to 11.30 am in Küchwald.
