Brückenstraße closed for several hours on Sunday
Fichtelberg Cycle Marathon starts in the city centre
On Sunday, 9 June, from 6 a.m. to approx. 11 a.m., Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße/Mühlenstraße will be fully closed to traffic. The reason for this is to set up and dismantle the start area for the Fichtelberg Cycle Marathon, which is organised by the Chemnitz City Sports Association. Around 1000 participants are expected.
The start will take place from 9 a.m. in individual groups of 50 riders each. The route leads through the city via: Theaterstraße - Falkeplatz - Bahnhofsstraße - Annaberger Straße - Annenstraße - Reitbahnstraße - Bernsdorfer Straße - Lutherstraße -Fraunhoferstraße - F.-O.-Schimmel-Straße - Thalheimer Straße - Saydaer Straße - Lengefelder Straße - Erfenschlager Straße - Einsiedler Hauptstraße - Einsiedler Neue Straße - Einsiedler Hauptstraße.
Road traffic on this stretch will be controlled by the police.
It is possible to bypass the traffic closure of Brückenstraße in the above-mentioned section via Straße der Nationen - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Theaterstraße.
