Broken playground equipment is dismantled
In September, the playground at Usti nad Labem 199 - 209 will be dismantled. According to the "Playground Concept 2025" adopted by the city council, it will no longer be maintained by the municipality.
Despite endeavours, no private operator was found for the playground at Usti nad Labem 199 - 209. The desolate playground equipment is now being dismantled. One had to be closed in March and others in October 2015 to protect children from injury.
There are other attractive playgrounds and leisure facilities for children and young people in the immediate vicinity. The Parks Department commissioned the Röhrsdorf construction company Gert Findeklee GmbH & Co KG to dismantle the equipment and lay out the new lawn. The low-maintenance redesign of the area, including demolition, will cost 12,800 euros.
The project is scheduled to begin in the 37th calendar week. The former playground is to be redesigned as a lawn by 14 October. However, there is no shortage of nearby playgrounds that children and young people can now use. Just a few minutes' walk away, at 119-125 Usti nad Labem Street, there is a play area with a climbing frame, basketball stand and spring seesaw. A few hundred metres away, also on Usti nad Labem Street, there is a cycle and roller track with a football pitch, basketball stands, slackline poles and a new skate pool facility modelled on Konkordiapark. This was built by the Parks Department this spring.
