From Monday 19 May, the roadway slabs and railings will be installed directly above Kalkstraße on the bridge structure of the Wüstenbrand-Chemnitz premium cycle path.
It will be necessary to close Kalkstraße for the crane locations and lifting platforms to be moved for this purpose. The closure is expected to be in place from Monday, 19 May, 6 pm to Thursday, 22 May, 4 am.
The diversion will be via Trützschlerstraße - Limbacher Straße - Oberfrohnaer Straße - Kalkstraße (to the Rottluff motorway junction and the industrial estate).
The eighth bridge section, another so-called shot, will be delivered and lifted into place a week earlier without a full closure of Kalkstraße.
A total of nine sections will be installed for the 185 metre long bridge structure.
Further necessary closures of Kalkstraße for the installation of the mastic asphalt and for remaining work will be necessary from summer 2025, but have not yet been scheduled.
The company Hentschke Bau GmbH from Bautzen was commissioned with the construction work and Metallbau Schubert GmbH from Markersdorf with the steel construction.
Construction work on the bridge for the Wüstenbrand-Chemnitz premium cycle path began on 1 July 2024.
