From Monday, 24 February, the steel construction assembly for the bridge structure on Kalkstraße will continue. On Tuesday, 25 February, the fifth bridge section, another so-called shot, will be delivered and lifted into place.
Once again, two cranes with a nominal lifting capacity of more than 90 tonnes are being used. Kalkstraße will have to be used for the crane locations and will be closed again for this purpose.
The closure will be in place from 6 pm on Monday 24 February until 4 am on Thursday 27 February.
The diversion will be via Trützschlerstraße - Limbacher Straße - Oberfrohnaer Straße - Kalkstraße (to the Rottluff motorway junction and the industrial estate).
A total of nine sections will be installed for the 185 metre long bridge structure. Further closures of Kalkstraße have not yet been scheduled; these will be necessary from summer 2025.
The company Hentschke Bau GmbH from Bautzen was commissioned with the construction work and Metallbau Schubert GmbH from Markersdorf with the steel construction.
Construction work on the bridge for the Wüstenbrand-Chemnitz premium cycle path began on 1 July 2024.
