Bottleneck at the vaccination centres
City of Chemnitz demands faster and more practical action from the Free State of Saxony
The City of Chemnitz very much regrets that there are currently long queues at the vaccination centres for vaccination against the coronavirus and that people wanting to be vaccinated have to be turned away.
The City of Chemnitz believes that the Free State of Saxony is responsible for the situation. There is an urgent need for action with regard to the supply of vaccines and the provision of vaccination staff. Both are beyond the city's control.
Many weeks ago, the City of Chemnitz, together with other stakeholders, made concrete proposals to the state to prevent precisely this situation.
To ease the situation as quickly as possible, talks are currently underway with the DRK and other parties involved. The aim is to increase the number of possible vaccinations in Chemnitz.
From the city's point of view, this also requires more GPs in particular to vaccinate.
