Book launch: "Love in times of capitalism - Our society in ten theses"
On Tuesday, 6 November at 7 pm, renowned author Robert Misik will present his book "Love in Times of Capitalism - Our Society in Ten Theses", which was published in spring 2018, at the Neue Sächsische Galerie in the TIETZ. Admission is free.
How does love work in times of capitalism? Why do we long for security? What will the future bring us? Which God do we still want to believe in? Why do we think greed is cool? What does freedom mean to us? What are the consequences of digitalisation, automation and robotisation?
In his new non-fiction book, Robert Misik reflects on our present. Using ten exemplary terms that aptly outline the zeitgeist and constitution of our society, he explores the question of which paradigms we are subjecting our lives to. Robert Misik is a regular contributor to the daily newspaper taz and the Austrian magazines profil and Falter. He is a non-fiction author and has written bestsellers such as "Genial dagegen" (Ingeniously against it). He will present his book, which was published in spring 2018, and would like to engage in a dialogue with the audience.
This event is a cooperation between the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
