Blood donations - dates in September

By donating blood in the summer, donors not only ensure that the clinics are supplied with the all-important blood reserves, but also - automatically, so to speak - equip themselves with a versatile play set that can be used for relaxing hours in the garden, on the beach or, of course, at home: Anyone who donates blood during the critical time of the peak travel season, which is almost traditionally accompanied by a shortage of blood reserves, will receive a play set from the DRK blood donation service collection team as a thank you this season; the campaign runs until 28 September 2012. Donating blood as regularly as possible in order to maintain the high level of supply is an important part of everyday life at any time of year, which is why the City of Chemnitz Health Department supports this important task by publicising blood donation campaigns in Chemnitz every month. Medical officer Dr Liebhard Monzer, Head of the Chemnitz Health Department, asks citizens: "Please help and take part in the blood donation campaigns! I continue to ask blood donors and those who would like to become blood donors for support and regular blood donations. Anyone who is healthy and between the ages of 18 and 71 - first-time donors up to 65 - should make themselves available to donate blood, at least from time to time. Before you donate, a doctor will determine whether you are fit to donate - so any fears you may have are unfounded. All you need to bring is your identity card and a willingness to help. Thank you very much!"
