Blood donation dates for October 2012
School holidays and public holidays can cause supply shortages
The high level of willingness to donate in Saxony ensures that the hospitals are continuously supplied with blood reserves and helps numerous patients in the event of illness or after accidents. In October, there is a new challenge due to two public holidays and two weeks of school holidays, as many donors are unable to attend the donation appointments in their towns.
In order to continue to provide sufficient blood reserves, we ask all donors to attend the blood donation campaigns whenever possible. Of course, every new donor is also very welcome.
Blood can be donated between the ages of 18 and 71 (new donors up to 65). All you need to bring is your identity card and a willingness to help. At every blood donation appointment, donors are looked after by a doctor and professionally trained staff. Drinks and a refreshing snack are available free of charge for every donor.
