Bibliophile treasure saved!

Invitation to the press event on Thursday, 25 October, 11 a.m., Central Library in the TIETZ

The valuable bibliophile volume "Rerum misnicarum libri VII by Georgius Fabricius" (Frankfurt, 1569) will be handed over to the Chemnitz City Library on Thursday, 25 October 2018, 11 a.m., in the LearningRoom of the Central Library in the TIETZ.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event.


Curt Bertram, Chairman of the Chemnitz City Library Sponsors' Association, will present the "Book Sponsors Wanted" campaign and Sabine Schumann, Chemnitz & Region Editor at the City Library, will talk about Georgius Fabricius and his work "Rerum misnicarum libri VII".


Thanks to a donation from the Chemnitzer Siedlungsgemeinschaft eG on the occasion of Chemnitz's 875th anniversary, the volume "Rerum misnicarum libri VII by Georgius Fabricius" (Frankfurt, 1569), which is of particular cultural and historical significance for the city, has been restored and thus preserved for the Chemnitz City Library. It is now available again for academic research purposes.
