Bernsdorf spa receives sculpture "Sheltered" by Ronald Münch

On Tuesday, 23 December at 9 a.m., the sculpture "Behütet" will be officially handed over to the Bernsdorfer Bad, represented by Norman Schröder, Head of the Baths Department of the City of Chemnitz, in the presence of Mayor Thomas Kütter and the artist Ronald Münch. The sculpture will be on display in the foyer of Bernsdorfer Bad, Bernsdorfer Straße 213.
Media representatives are invited to attend.
The "Behütet" sculpture is part of the "Kunst am Bau" concept and complements the Bernsdorfer Bad as an artistic element in the public space. It was created during the two-week wood sculpture plein air "Down by the River" organised by the "Auerswalde Village Gallery" in Chemnitz Valley 2025.
Ronald Münch was born in Mittweida, is a mechanical engineer by profession, completed a partial degree in sociology/psychology and studied painting and graphics. Large-format oil painting is his main focus, and he has also been working intensively with sculpture and sculptural objects for many years. He has been a freelance artist since 2012 and runs an open studio in Chemnitz, also as an encounter project. As deputy chairman, he is a member of the Chemnitz Artists' Association. His works are visible throughout Europe. He has received public awards for his voluntary work to build a bridge between art and mental illness.
"Kunst am Bau" in Chemnitz stands for the integration of works of art into the architecture of public buildings. The aim is to revitalise the design of buildings, enhance public spaces and create a sustainable connection between architecture, location and people.
