Before the start of the CFC home match: 2,445 more seats in the east stand
Good news ahead of the CFC's two top matches in the coming days: additional areas of the stadium on Gellertstraße will be available for use from next Saturday for the home match against Hansa Rostock. The promenade of the East Stand and the East Stand itself will be extended to include blocks 1, 2 and 3. This means that a further 2,445 seats are now available, totalling around 12,500 seats.
The recently submitted documents were assessed within a week and the conditions were checked today during an inspection. As a result, the new areas were approved:
The cyclists among the Chemnitz football fans can now use the bicycle parking area at the stadium. In the Heinrich-Schütz-Straße area, above the main entrance, there is a bicycle parking area where around 150 bicycles can be securely parked with their own lock during the match.
After the construction work on the kiosks was completed last week, the CFC's caterer is now in full swing. The kiosks in the north, south and east stands can be put into operation with a limited range of products for the time being. Food and drinks will be offered as before. Due to the new and comfortable working conditions, the range can be expanded in the future.
Work on completing the toilet areas was also carried out during the summer break. These can already be used for the north, south and east stands for the upcoming home game.
The fire service access roads on Heinrich-Schütz-Straße and Forststraße as well as the fire service bypasses on the south and north stands are currently being surfaced with asphalt and should also be completed on Saturday.
Access to the south and east stands will continue to be via the renovated main access area. The new separation facilities in this area will go into operation during the first half of the current season.
The shell of the main stand building, which has been under construction since January, is now expected to be completed in August.
