"Be Green Day" 2013: tree donation at Chemnitzer Wall

Invitation for media representatives to the on-site photo session today, 29 July, 11.30 am at Johannisplatz

Environmental and climate protection depends on the contribution of each individual, according to the approach of "Be Green Day", which Bertelsmann companies initiate worldwide every year. In this context, the company, which is also active in Chemnitz, is now giving a "cash injection" to a cherry tree planted in the local ramparts.

Representatives of the media have been invited to a symbolic planting ceremony today at 11.30 a.m. at the ramparts on Johannisplatz. Site manager Andreas Süßenbach will symbolically carry out the "Be Green Day" tree campaign.

The Chemnitz branch of the company had approached the city's green space department with its request and proposal. As the spring planting season for trees is already over, the department will donate this extra financial bonus to a tree that is already thriving on Johannisplatz. For this good cause, Bertelsmann is donating 1,000 euros to the Chemnitz city treasury. In return, a small brass sign will be placed in front of the Bertelsmann-sponsored cherry tree with information about the donor and the cause.
